Superga® the timeless elegance announces spring collaboration with Emily Ratajkowski

Superga® is thrilled to announce its Spring/Summer 2022 advertising campaign and

collaboration with Emily Ratajkowski, the brand’s newest ambassador. A fan of the

brand for over a decade, the capsule collection marries the Italian heritage, authentic

spirit with a mix of timeless, effortless, laid-back design. 

The newest Superga® ambassador has had an affinity for the brand throughout

her lifetime, wearing to castings and shoots, exploring New York City and traveling

across the world. As a closet staple for women, men and kids, Emily wanted to put

her own twist on two of the most iconic styles while preserving its original heritage

and simplicity.

During the design process, Emily chose Superga® 2750, a style that was conceived

as the first Italian tennis shoe over 100 years ago by the owner of the brand and the
Alpina, known for trekking back in the 50s, to customize.

She wanted to respect the
Italian heritage and timeless silhouette of the brand.
“There is no other brand I’d rather partner with this year. Superga® is a brand I’ve
been wearing during all stages of my life, and I am thrilled to be part of this campaign,
especially since I’ve never designed my own footwear before. No matter the style
of the sneaker, it goes with everything while providing a timeless look and comfort
to my outfit every day,” said Emily Ratajkowski. She tweaked the styles to have the
bindings in an off-white color and rounded the laces. “The 2750 is a classic shoe that
I personally wear often so I wanted to keep the heritage of the shoe since it’s been
sold for over 100 years. There is also this label so consumers will always remember
that these styles are a part of my collaboration.”

The campaign was shot in Los Angeles in January 2022 on a neutral background
at Milk Studios by Photographer Zoey Grossman, known for her high energy, edgy
grit and feminine eye, who brought to life Emily’s version of her collaboration with
Superga®. New York based stylist, Emma Morrison, dressed Emily in clothing that
provides easy movement. With being a new mom, the campaign showcases effortless
silhouettes, materials, and textures in a series of looks that she can look stylish and
comfortable in from day-to-night.

Superga startades 1911 i Turin i Italien, då Walter Martiny började producera gummisulade skor. 1925 utökade Walter sin design med en ny sko med vulkaniserad gummisula och den ikoniska Superga 2750 Cotu Classic föddes. Efter kriget startade Superga om produktionen och då utökades sortimentet till att även innefatta högkvalitativa sneakers i olika varianter. På 1970-talet utökade Superga sortimentet ytterligare för att lägga till sportskor med diverse tekniska attribut i sortimentet.
